Onyango is the Managing Partner and the head of the energy and Infrastructure Department. He has over 15 years experience advising clients on transactional, regulatory matters and commercial arbitration in Uganda. His practice focuses mainly on real estate, commercial law and assisting investments set up in Uganda and the East African region.
He is recognised as a leading litigator before the highest courts in Uganda and continues to mentor young lawyers in commercial litigation and arbitration. Based on his work portfolio, Onyango is respected by his peers in the investment, Real estate and Conveyancing fields.
Onyango has served on numerous committees of the Uganda Law Society and has previously headed a not for profit organization, as the country Coordinator. He continues to serve as an external advisor and board member for various companies in Uganda.
He has vast transaction experience and has been Lead Counsel on a number of advisory projects involving both local and international counsel. Onyango regularly advises government agencies in commercial law reform and has been part of teams structuring major infrastructure projects in this region. He has an interest in Chinese Business law and Chinese investments in the African region.
