Alexander Katzarsky has been a partner in Georgiev, Todorov & Co. since 2001. He graduated from Sofia University faculty of law in 1990 and become a barrister at the Sofia Bar in 1996. In 1997 he studied European company and commercial law in the University of Limerick, Ireland and the following year he studied the third and sixth EEC Company Law Directives in TMC Asser Institute in The Hague, The Netherlands. During the period 2001-2002 he conducted research on the transformation of commercial companies at the Max Plank Institute for Comparative and International Private Law - Hamburg, Germany.

The Bulgarian government appointed him an arbitrator and conciliator pursuant to the Washington Convention on the settlement of international disputes between states and nationals of other states. In the period 1992-1995 he was an expert for the Council of Ministers and a vice-chairman of one of the biggest Bulgarian companies – BTC AD. He is also an arbitrator practicing in the court of Arbitration with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1994.

In his practice he was legal Adviser for OTE-KPN during the negotiations for BTC AD sale; legal adviser to Maspex Ltd, a Polish company, on the acquisition of Litex Juice ltd, Litex Commerce Ltd, Litex Shop, and the production and distribution of juices under the trade mark “Queens”, total value up to 10 million Euro; Adviser to Chelsfield Partners UK with regards to sizable construction projects; Adviser to Bonier Group on the acquisition of Pari Newspaper, one of the main business daily newspapers. Total value up to 1 million Euro. 

Alexander Katzarsky has substantial arbitration expertise. He was representing the Consortium leader Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH – Munich, Germany as a respondent in two arbitration proceedings as well as RWE Industrie – Lösungon GmbH in an arbitration case in respect of Maritsa East II Power Plant (The biggest Thermal Power plant).
