Carlo Cipriani

Carlo is a partner specialising in contentious procedures and arbitration.

For twenty years Carlo has been providing ongoing assistance to international and Italian clients in questions of civil and corporate law and matters regarding, inter alia, property law, obligations and contracts, banking law, bankruptcy, real estate and intellectual property. He has developed excellent customer management skills and he is able to identify the most appropriate defensive strategies in the interest of the client. He is capable of providing immediate legal assistance to his clients.

Furthermore, over the years, Carlo has developed a considerable experience in assisting and advising companies on their setting up and on other corporate matters, as well as negotiating and drawing up principal commercial agreements, inter alia, with particular regard to the acquisition and lease of properties.

Lawyer since 2004, Carlo successfully passed a public exam at the Scuola Superiore dell’Avvocatura pursuant to Law no. 247 of 2012 and has been admitted to practice before the Court of Cassation and other Supreme Courts in 2016.

Before joining Lener & Partners, Carlo had worked in the litigation and corporate departments at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he assisted international and Italian clients in contentious proceedings as well as in in corporate, banking and regulatory matters. He is a member of the Associazione Italiana fra gli Studiosi del Processo Civile and of the Camera Civile di Bari affiliate to Unione Nazionale delle Camere Civili.

Former member of the exam commission at the Law Faculty of the University of Bari for civil procedure exams, in May 2007, obtained a PhD in civil procedure. His research focused on a thesis on arbitration.

He collaborates as a teaching assistant in Civil Procedural Law and Procedural Labour Law at the Department of Law at the University “Roma Tre” where he teaches as a lecturer at the Master of II level “Giuristi e Consulenti d’Impresa”.

He is the author of several publications on civil procedure.

Finally, he is a partner of the Dike Giuridica publishing house where he is also a scientific co-director.

He is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English.
